I started traveling the world at age twenty, and over the years have collected thousands of photos from beautiful destinations: landscapes, landmarks, foods and facades. But some of my favorites are my photos of doors. When I began traveling, my job was selling custom doorknobs, so I was tuned into doorways and their details. I came to realize that a door often represents its’ city perfectly. The colors, materials, knob, and accessories reflect the local charm, the local way of life. Doors also symbolize openings and closings; a reminder that endings are often just beginnings. That journeys often begin with the turning of a handle, and stepping into a new world.
